custom tones not working after upgrade to Seitseminen

Hi all,
just upgraded to Seitseminen today, looks good so far. Except for the annoying thing that my custom tones are not working anymore. I set the both in system (sounds and feedback?) as well as via an ambient I am using. Both show the configured tones and even play them when touched, but when a text message arrives, the standard tone is played. Worked nicely until the upgrade. Any suggestions?
I have an issue that is probably related: my custom ringtone still works, but it's volume is so low that it's only hearable with vibration enabled when you put your ear directly on the phone. This was louder before 3.1, so I was able to actually hear that someone was calling.
