We need native applications of the main social networks and instant messenger, so as not to use those of android, because we are unlike.

Jolla can't do anything for it. You should ask those companies to support Sailfish

when SailfishOS was released it had a really good integration with social network apps, eg integration of FB feed, messenger on-line presence via xmpp. It was those companies that decided to change their policies and APIs,

The unlike thing to do would be to avoid using the commercial social medias and use ones with open source code instead.

Even with open source clients the social media companies would be closed. There is simply no way of reliably assessing code without seeing it.

I think that would really be an essential accelerator for sailfishOS. I continue to be a lover of sailfishOS with all its little quirks. Giving up is not a solution either. Hope dies last. They can do it!

Ya, I agree with @vattuvarg and go one step forward; "Be unlike and do not participate in Social Media"

Telegram has an API and two native Apps. Jolla should team up with the developers and integrate that in the Messages app. Same goes for Nextcloud services like files, Talk and Social.

According to the Developer Docs, Sailfish Messages app is based on the Telepathy framework, which in turn lists Telegram on its Components Page. You might try it on the desktop first; if you get it working, see if you can build it for Sailfish OS, and what else (if anything) it takes to make it play nicely with the Messages app. The Developer Docs mention a libcommhistory...

Thumbs up for the telegram integration with messages app

that case was even stronger with n900, and it's great idea, however most social media companies "succeeded" by breaking and modifying existing protocols. my scepticism therefore is how quickly the telepathy framework can response to such proprietary protocols and their api changes.

Facebook (and Skype) Telepathy plugins rely on the libpurple plugins by Eion Robb and he's been quite responsive in keeping those up-to-date.

Saddly Thaodan isn't keeping the Skype Sailfish package up to date and according to comments doesn't work anymore on 3.1

I'd rather like to see an Okuna client for SailfishOS :-) Okuna

so pay for apps

People often mention here that they would gladly pay for apps / android support / bugfixes / etc.; for instance see https://together.jolla.com/question/142604/what-app-would-you-pay-10euro-for/ , https://together.jolla.com/question/171977/the-state-of-paid-sailfish-apps-and-app-ecosystem/ . It seems to me that the main problem is that there are few developers willing to take up the offer, though.

We could easily pay for Apps when Jolla Store/Harbour would offer this possibility...
