I have a brand-new Xperia XA2 with Sailfish X 3.1.0.11 (the paid version). The initial installation of apps worked, but any further installations first go into "Waiting" for about 5 minutes and then fail with "Problem with store". Tried a bunch of different apps, YTPlayer, Recorder, Aptoide, all have the same problem. Adding repos and installing through storeman works fine. I have already tried recommendations from other threads, including:

  • Removing my account and re-adding it
  • Updating sign-in credentials
  • Rebuilding the app registry (in settings -> utilities)
  • pkcon refresh, pkcon update and zypper clean -a in a root shell all return without errors
  • ssu domain: sales
  • ssu release: Device release is currently: 3.1.0.11
  • ssu lr: https://pastebin.com/TniFw6gW (I disabled all repos in storeman to make sure they don't interfere)
  • version --dup: Ran through and updated a bunch of packages
  • pkcon install storeclient: Package not found: storeclient
  • Other packages install fine through pkcon, for example pkcon install sharutils

Any help will be very appreciated.

Update: I just managed to install Microsoft Exchange, so it's only user packages that aren't working. Looking at the output of journalctl, I can find the following:

Sep 05 12:16:31 Sailfish [4767]: [D] unknown:0 - void Package::InstallTransactionPkgKit::giveUpOrRetry(const QString&) "could not find package harbour-apk-com.aptoide.partners"

And indeed zypper search harbour only shows already installed packages. Already tried zypper clean -a and zypper ref and that didn't help.

I don't believe this is device specific or even OS specific, but more that sometimes, on odd occasions, Jolla's server is down/glitching.

Your question is essentially a duplicate and has been asked numerous times over the years. Here's on example with a similar search term to yours (cannot install jolla store) https://together.jolla.com/question/111774/cannot-update-or-install-apps-from-jolla-store-after-sos-20-update/

Essentially, we're supposed to modify older questions that are similar to our own, but when you are new here, you need to earn x amount of karma points before you can edit another users post.

Anyway, if you haven't already, try downloading/installing something again and see if it works, I say this is on occasions, Jolla Store is down for whatever reasons and sometimes in minutes or the next half hour, it's up again. The Jolla Store app will of course load on your device but becomes incapable of action if the server is down.

@Edz Thanks. I've had this issue for a couple of days now, I'd hope Jolla's servers don't go down for such periods of time regularly. Then again, the issue could be related to my account.

Should pckon search … be able to find apps from the store? Maybe my repository list is incorrect (I updated the pastebin above).

@jo:
- the repo list (pastebin) is ok
- the store client is spelt "store-client" (with a dash) - this is a mandatory package, of course.
- this should bring everything necessary:

devel-su
version --dup
reboot ## the device must be restarted.

@jovirkku Tried that, including the reboot, didn't help. It looks like all harbour- packages are missing (see my update above)

Ended up contacting Jolla zendesk. Turns out my username was too long (32 characters). They shortened it (at my request) to 8 characters and I can install Aptoide and other apps fine. Hooray \o/

Username too long....well, I wouldn't have thought of that as being the problem, but glad you got it sorted out.
