Videos in WhatsApp not playable

Dear sailors, Videos in WhatsApp are not playable. Video links (like YouTube) work. The rest of the videos will only be displayed as an image, but will not play. I have already checked all (?) the Settings, but could not find a cause. Can you confirm this bug? Maybe I did something wrong or ignored something. (Xperia Xa2 / Build 3.1.0.11 / WhatsApp 2.19.246 and all before)

Hi, thanks for reporting. There is a problem with video playback in Whatsapp (XA2).

Click the three dots in top right corner, take Share (but do not share) and go back. Now you may be able to play the video.
@jovirkku: Many thanks for this workaroud. It works for me. I can confirm: This behavior is only noticeable on the Xa2.

Before the installation of whatsapp the playback worked, now instead I only hear the audio. I installed llc player and writes cannot play stream of type: <unknown>. The workaround doesn't work for me Thanks for your help </unknown>

jovirkku ( 2020-04-27 09:14:28 +0300 )editI do not know what is wrong in your phone but if the playback of all videos in the Gallery fails (i.e., you record a video with the camera and then try to play it) then it is not the Whatsapp problem discussed in this post.
