Title is open for improvements, not sure how to describe this one.

When I receive a call and don't answer before the caller ends the call and BEFORE the call is 'transferred' to the voice-mail it seems my Jolla somehow answers the call. At that moment, there is no correct connection to any caller. And this is made pretty clear by the loud failed call sound (the part I got no clue how to call). Like when you try to dial a number that doesn't exist or when a call is dropped when you have connection issues.

Had this behaviour today and it was so loud that it already hurt my ear.

Happens to me often, I'm running the 4G on, and it often misses the call connection. Causes my ears to ring if I don't remember to watch out for this.

What I mean is, that not only receiving the call, but also outgoing calls that fail, cause LOUD "network error" -audio

I am not sure why this is not resolved. I was thinking it is a problem because I was using Jolla in USA and it is not supported. But now I am using Nexus 5 with 1.1.9.28 software. I still get the same error on Nexus 5. This is so annoying. Well this is the only annoying thing about Sailfish OS for me now.

Does anyone know what the network error sound media file is? I want to just replace it with a nicer sound to get rid of this issue until it is resolved by Jolla.

It's an old issue, duplicate of this and that.

A simple workaround would be to add the option of muting all network error sounds, but it is clear that this request hasn't attracted much interest yet.

And, by the way, it can also go the other way around; that is, after a failed call. Sure, it makes more sense in this setting but still it would be nice to be able to just remove them (so annoying to the ear, at least for me).

From 2.0.0.10 release notes:

"Phone:

USSD push messages are now shown, allowing the user of prepaid SIM's to follow the costs, for instance
Fixed the issue of making calls to exceptionally long phone numbers
Dismissing call should now work more reliably"

Did this really helped solve our issue? If you guys solved it, that is the best feature in 2.0. I love everything else, but this was the most annoying thing on my Jolla and Nexus 5.

I updated Jolla phone and tried many calls - waited until it gets transferred to VM or caller disconnects. I am happy to report this network error sound did not happen. All calls disconnected right away on the phone.

If any of you were having this issue, please update and test.

Thank you Jolla Sailors!!! You are the greatest. I am waiting for a 2.0.0.10 build for Nexus 5, since that is what I use always.

Just tested here and the loud sound error is still triggered and the end of the call.

That sucks!!!

I was hoping that got fixed. This is the most embarrassing issue when using Jolla/Sailfish in public!!!

Jolla please fix this issue.
