Hi all, I am trying to get my Raspberry Pi Zero W to the same wifi network with my XperiaX currently with no success. I have tested the combination with my home wlan router with a success. I can ssh all the devices(Ubuntu laptop, XperiaX and Raspberry Pi Zero) in the domain 192.168.1.x. When using my XperiaX as a router by tethering, Ubuntu laptop and XperiaX are in the same domain 172.28.172.x but Raspberry Pi Zero not.

The Raspberry wpa_supplicant.conf file includes both networks with Xperia network with a higher priority. The raspberry always connects to the lower priority home wlan network. If I switch my home wlan router off, raspberry waits for a long time and starts a login prompt with no network connection.

When analysing the networks, XperiaX seemed to be on the channel 1 and home wlan on the channel 2. The signal of XperiaX network was weaker than home wlan signal.

Has anybody succeeded to connect the devices like that way? I would be appreciated to get that info to continue my efforts or stop dreaming.

If you're talking about connecting rpi0w to XperiaX acting as a hotspot, then yes. I did it. Just put the wlan name and pw into rpi0w config file. Don't know why it doesn't work in your case.

I tested with my Jolla1 and everything works. Still no idea why it is not working with my XperiaX. Maybe looking my ssid and pwd info five times more.

I usually pair my Raspberry pi zero with Sailfish 3.1 tethering wifi. I made the first pairing by GUI.

My configuration is: raspbian stretch 4.14.50+ #1122 armv6l
