Hi Sailors, I was just wondering if there is some WORKING voice assistant for SFOS. I tried Saera and also Sera, but both of them are not comparable with Google assistant, Alexa, or Siri. Now some startup started assistant Mycroft, so I was thinking, it could be usable even for Sailfish OS. It works with Ubuntu, Mint, Centos etc.

It could be great if someone could port Mycroft for Sailfish :)

I've never felt the need to use one of those and when I was curious, the experience was awful. Nevertheless, the question is valid.

Snips are also very good, can someone port it?

It would be nice to have something based on Mozilla Common Voice, preferably with local computation. For me the big stop sign with voice assistants is the transmission of microphone input to remote servers.

As you talked about Mycroft I think SailfishOs is not suitable for that project. As stated in Documentation of Mycroft:

System Requirements: Whilst Mycroft runs on a Raspberry Pi 3B or above, this is achieved through a custom release of Raspbian Lite significantly reducing the system overhead by not running a desktop environment and other unnecessary processes. [...] Our Precise wake word engine also relies upon TensorFlow. [...] The ARM architecture has a similar requirement called SIMD (Single Instruction, Multiple Data). This has been available since ARMv7 which includes the Cortex A53 used by the RaspberryPi and the Cortex A7 from the OrangePi.
