Hello again dear language fellows!

Thank you very much for the great work you did on the first translation round of 3.2.0 SW release!

We are now ready for the second translation round 2.

This second translation round has are about 70 strings to be translated depending on the language. We would kindly ask you to do your part by the end of Monday, 30th September. If you have any concerns, problems, or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Please note the following additional information:

1) The following IDs from now on will be referring to the "Store" app, as opposed to "Jolla Store" app:

startupwizard-la-install_additional_android_stores
startupwizard-la-selected_apps_will_be_downloaded_and_installed
startupwizard-la-other_accounts_setup_later_from_settings
startupwizard-la-internet_connection_body

2) We would need special love and care for Danish ( @Louis ) and Czech ( @xmlich02 ) languages. Tak! Děkujeme!

3) And Germany, which is one of our biggest fan bases, could really get help with outstanding suggestions being reviewed, @ejjoman, bist du da? :)

4) "Android support" has been renamed to "Android App Support" (with ™ where applicable)

5) Remorse timer has been re-implemented to appear more in "Undo" fashion rather than "Cancel what's in progress". Meaning you will find strings that change tense from present continuous to past simpe, e.g. "Deleting contacts" -> "Deleted contacts", and the tip on the timer now says "Tap to undo" rather than "Tap to cancel". Please don't get confused and double-check the tenses.

A kind reminder, always use the English UK as the source for your translations, not Engineering English. Also, please try to check old terms used to keep consistency. The same goes for language style (e.g. how to address the user) and old translations.

Without further ado, head to https://translate.sailfishos.org and follow link for instructions if you're there for the first time :)

Thank you & regards,

Sim & Jarkko

Hungarian completed!

Btw. @sledges@jahonen I used to came across the following notification with 3.1.0.11 when installing a TOH on a JP1: https://imgur.com/a/WsHz9dK

I have checked my old downloaded ts files (back from the unofficial-translation-ages) and it turns out the text (jolla-store-no-error_toh_invalid) was the part of the store-client, however now I downloaded it from pootle it cannot be found.

It was a pleasure to find some functionality of the OS by translating ... very welcome :-)

Dutch all done, rest doesn't seem to need suggestions, so I guess @dylan-van-assche or @nthn need to sign off all to make it final. Or you can give me more rights to help out to tick of the Dutch language. / German language also needs review for finalization, all suggestions are in.

Well, the problem with 'undo' is that in many languages outside of English, there's no such easy word and you have to come up with a complex construction that's dependent on the context, and is usually also pretty long. 'Cancel' is a much more common and therefore much easier to translate word. Was the way it works behind the scenes also altered or is this merely a cosmetic change? The choice of words "to appear more in "Undo" fashion" isn't entirely clear. Could you please explain exactly how it's supposed to work, and which text is shown when?

Edit: see comments by @sledges below.

Is it? I have all my devices set to English and hardly ever use Dutch in software, but I guess the text used for ctrl+z should be sufficiently familiar?

Fuzzillogic ( 2019-09-28 03:02:16 +0300 )edit

'Ongedaan maken' is generally only used with regards to text editors. However, let's say you delete a file, you wouldn't 'make the deletion undone', you would simply 'restore' the file.

I agree with you @nthn that Undo-fashion needs an interaction design explanation. E.g. Will the remorse timer appear only after hundreds of item X have been removed to indicate restore deleted items? Or does "appear more in Undo fashion" only mean the remorse time still appears before the selected action is executed, still meaning I regret my previous ok/tap so don't execute the action?

Remorse timer will change its text from:

Deleting message in 5-1 seconds
Tap to cancel

to:

Deleted
Tap to undo

Its behaviour (5 bars disappearing each second) will not change.

@sledges: So, technically speaking, it's still a countdown timer before the message is actually deleted, and the change is entirely cosmetic? In that case I don't understand why it was changed, because it was clear how it worked even for first time users. I'll keep the Dutch translation as 'Annuleren' ('Cancel') even though that isn't really something you could say about an action which, according to the timer, is already done/finished/completed.

qmf-activesync-plugin, strings 11 and 12 ...

Path Settings | System | Device lock should probably be Settings | Security | Device lock ?

@jolla: do you need feedback here when languages are fixed? PT fixed.

@sponka, you've actually made another discovery by digging this up: qmf-activesync-plugin is no longer in use since Sailfish OS 2.2.1, I have removed it from pootle.

It has been replaced by qmf-eas-plugin which has the same yet correct string.

Hi @jahonen, @sledges or @martonmiklos,

Sorry if I posted here as I'm not sure of creating a new question. I've completed Indonesian translation but it shows 99% translated here https://translate.sailfishos.org/id/. Did I miss something?

I also created RPM package based on https://github.com/martonmiklos/unofficial-jolla-translation, but it shows error when I tried to install on my device Fatal error: Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: package unofficial-jolla-language-pack-id-2.1.2-0.0.1.noarch is intended for a different operating system.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi @fpermana

Do not care about the 99% this is some kind of pootle bug. If all strings translated then you are good to go,

Please share the RPM and your source files. I recommend forking the repo doing and pushing the modifications to github.
