Browser: bookmark menu when opening new tab [feature request] [released]

The new tab dialogue in the Jolla browser only presents an URL field and some recent history entries. It would be good to have the bookmark list available as well.

I thought that's exactly what it does? I tried bookmarking this page (by tapping on the star) and it showed up last on the list. Removed the bookmark, the entry was removed from the list.

Edit: When in the URL field, swipe down the keyboard to see your bookmarks.

When URL/Search field is active (VKB is open), the list below initially shows recents from history and when you start typing it only shows the ones that match the text you have written. We are planning to improve this so that also matches from bookmarks would also be shown in the list.

At the moment it is so like mentioned in other comment that If you want to see your bookmarks you can swipe down to close the VKB and then see bookmarks list.

I actually tried swiping down the keyboard, but apparently the swipe has to start in the letter area, not in the clipboard area, which is why I thought it wasn't possible. Also, it's a bit fiddly.

I agree, the presence of the bookmarks isn't obvious (they're hidden) and it's not easy to swipe down and remove the keyboard. Far better if the focus wasn't on the input line at the start. The keyboard wouldn't then obscure the favourites. You could then either select a favourite or input a URL.

@ninepine we preferred having the focus on URL/Search since you can also open a bookmarked site to new tab by just long tapping on the bookmark on tab page and selecting "open in new tab".

Ah. The fact that you can press and hold the Favoirites to produce a menu offering either the Favourite link in a new tab or the deletion of the favourite isn't immediately obvious. If the option to press and hold were clear then the solution would be obvious. How can you make this clear?
