Hello Sailors and jolla-devs,

on my XA2+ i remark that the Calendar event are really slow to be displayed.
Need around 1 Minute to display the content of a month.
This time for each month, then is really annoying.

at the first seconds they seems to be disappeared, but system may have a huge lag to display it.
on my device i by choosing an other month, first there is nothing status segment on top blink a long long time.
Wait and wait by pulling away and back swish etc.. after around 1 min then it appears one after each other.

Please could someone have a look on it? Need next time to handle my events on the go.

I have the xperia XA2+ with last release (3.1.0.x) use fruux as a service.

Edit 26.05.2020: sfos v3.3.0.16 i have still the effect, i may regularly correct with the trick given from Kim.
But calendar interface fall in a lag for event rendering some time later.
I don't know really how long it works well until it turn to a rendering lag...
I wish to have it pretty faster at the time i would check my calendar for getting an overview to organize an other appointment.
Quite frustrating if i see nothing the next 3-5 min after unlock and check calendar by dentist, doctor, garage, etc...

Have a nice sail, Cheers

@Kim thank you very much for your help and tipp. But need to apply it regularly, somehow too much time for me for having a well functional calendar. I reopen the thread, expecting a more stable interface

If you don't mind myself potentially viewing your appointments, may you send me the database file when it becomes minute slow, to see if I can reproduce and search for the issue ? If you agree, send it to dcaliste A free.fr Thanks.

This normally stems from a huge calendar database.

The database is located at ~/.local/share/system/privileged/Calendar/mkcal/db.

The database has been known to grow huge in certain circumstances (I believe I once had the problem while experimenting with the caldav configuration).

According to this: https://together.jolla.com/question/67034/howto-reset-user-databases/, deleting this file and rebooting the phone should rebuild the database. After the reboot and a sync you should have your calendar entries back. Remember to sync any un-synced calendar entries first, or they will be lost.

You need to use devel-su to access this file.

You can use

devel-su ls -l ~/.local/share/system/privileged/Calendar/mkcal/db

to get the filesize, and

devel-su mv ~/.local/share/system/privileged/Calendar/mkcal/db ~/calendar-db

to move it to your home folder, or

devel-su rm ~/.local/share/system/privileged/Calendar/mkcal/db

to delete it. Be careful with this one, it cannot be undone!

Hope this helps you.

sorry i'm skeptic about it. because with sfos 3.0.3.x that worked fast i used my calendar relative often. then by update to 3.1.0.x i didn't used so much. didn't add more entries. but remark now that is really slower . and as i remember i have not so much object inside. less than 100.. But i'll give a look on it. between practice and thinking....

328kb... not so huge i think... isn't it?

I don't think so, mine is at 210kb and the calendar is almost instant.
