In my opinion, the Jolla phone's height makes it hard for the user to close applications by swiping down with one hand. I suggest you to make it easier for the user to close apps with one hand.

One handed use is hard anyway which is because of its size. How would you like it to close the apps? Left to right, right to left? How do you think would it be best so it's suitable for left- and right-handed users?

I got the feeling that minimizing an app occours more often (at least for me) than completely closing it. That is solved by the left-to-middle/right-to-middle swipe(?) action. Don't see the point on having a changed/additional close action for apps.

I agree with masmrlar, i don't have big hands at all but really no problem to close apps.. eventually is possible to minimize it and close it with long press > tap on X

The idea from swiping from top to bottom is fine, only it seems to me that not only the phone is sometimes to big, the screen sometimes reacts in different ways.

When closing with two hands I can swipe easily from the black bezel(black part of screen edge), when closing with one hand I really need to swipe from the screen edge.

The edge detection for at least the swipe-down gesture should have a settings item so people can adjust the behaviour to their hand size. In general the swipe-down gesture needs to be adjusted to be more tolerant as I at least 3 out of 10 times trigger a pull- on a pulley-menu and not a swipe-gesture, even when swiping from way outside the screen.

If that sounds unclear to you, I mean make the designated area for the swipe adjustable so it actually triggers from a few pixels earlier-in as a swipe-gesture instead of a pull.

At lest to me, the problem is the same with swipe-up. I think it's not so much about position, but more about direction. If you swipe slightly sidewards, you'll get pulley instead of swipe down. Makes the gesture awkward for thumb, since you need to bend it, not just "rotate" it downwards.

Yeah I have read about that - question is what is the case now? Any intel by JollaStaff would be nice.
