The German ministry of the interior provides an android app for emergency warnings in case of catastrophes (NINA), which can be downloaded from their website or Google Play store. I managed to install the app on my XA2 Ultra with Sailfish 3.1.10. When I start it it says "configuration of NINA" forever. Has anybody succeeded in using this app? Or are there alternatives which work on Sailfish, like Katwarn or BIWAPP? Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I had this too. And forgot about Nina.

Now when I start it says: 'network connection necessary' on the first start.

Katwarn now says 'google play services needed but notbsupported on your device'. I am using microG and seem to remember it was okay when installed first.

DWD Warnwetter now also claims about google play services

OMG, what a regression

Forget about my above rant regarding Katwarn and Warnwetter. Both working fine. I had the 'Deactivate check for android system packages' in settings somehow not ticked. Do not ask me why and how. After enabling the deactivation it was okay.

Still Nina shows the same behaviour

@peterleinchen: I just installed microg and tested Katwarn. The app is starting all right, but when I try to add a location it prompts Google Play Service error, please restart. Are you able to add locations or do you use location service?

After upgrade to 3.2.0.12 situation did not change (and probably will never).

Nina asks for network connection when starting and cacels.

Katwarn is not able to add locations. Clicking + and holding on map does not work. Map (mapbox) is shown, searching for zip code (PLZ) works but not possible to add. Permissions for location service are given. And I had the impression it worked (office location shown) but now at home (GPS location fix) still office location shown.

So, all in all, total non-usabilty on SFOS!
