With large devices reaching the top screen is a little bit tricky. I would like to try to configure the swipe action from the bottom in the application layer with three different areas and test if it's usuable.

My idea is something like 20% for closing current app, 40% for the app launcher and 40% for trigger the action of the top bottom. This way I have all three options without moving my hand in order to reach the top edge. I've been looking other projects in openrepos but I'm not sure if it's possible do something like this or where could be configured.

Any one knows if it's possible to do it and where I could start? Thanks

imo there is no need for app launcher since my op is that its enough to have it avaliable from home screen.

That's the part which i'm not sure if it's possible. My idea is to have all three options: window close, app launcher and top menu. Dividing the swipe up action in three areas like we have from the top.

@greenhad: The top menu is available frome home screen. swipe down anywhere (also lower part of screen) and you'll drag down the menu.

It's interesting to see how opinions and needs differ. When Jolla first introduced the split top edge gestures (close app | Top Menu | close app) there was much resistance.

From the perspective of UX design your proposal woud add yet another complex gesture. Jolla will need to find a way to deal with these overly tall phones though.

In home screen works flawlessly. But when you are inside an app you have to reach the top edge. And with these taller devices it's impossible with one hand. That's why I'm trying to modify the swipe up and bring all top actions to the bottom where my thumb is. And if it works well make a patch for everyone that have the same problem.
