Hello sailors,

i want to open a discussion about Bluetooth battery drain on last release.
Last days i regularly experienced the same issue.
During the midday pause i hear sometimes music with my BL headsets.
90% of the time that i do it, happens the huge battery drain after apply the followings steps.

I activate Bluetooth
Power Headset on
Pair smartphone with headset
Start media-player & play music for more than 15min
Stop/pause player through headset or Cover or lockscreen (player still opened)
Put the headset in etui (they go then automatically off)
deactivate Bluetooth of smartphone.
Then comes this huge power drain.

Happen with my XA2+ with last release (v3.2), jolla media-player or quasar MX.

Close the media-player app, stop mostly the drain. Under 20 time i only experienced 1 time the obligation to restart sfos.
Never happened with my JP1 before....
Does anyone experience the same?

Edit 29.03.2020:
I have two headsets, the issue happens only with my divacore Nomad+ (Bluetooth v5).
And not with my jabra-revo wireless (Bluetooth v3).
They have both SPP, HSP, A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, & DID...
Does someone experience the same issue with Bluetooth v5 device?

Have a nice sails. cheers

I would like to try to reproduce this. What app do you use to monitor the power drain?

I don't really measure, i only use the native "Battery log" which displays some graphs. normally with my usage, i need more than 4 days from more or less full until 10%. With this issue, then it needs only an half day for 100% until 10%... with this app, i think i won't remark it if i lose 10% from my 5 or 7 days battery use...

you have to power off or turn off bluetooth on the headphone/speaker first, then you can deactivate bt on the phone without battery drain...

I'll try it. but normally, it shouldn't be a specific process to unpair the devices.

wait. mostly i stop mediaplayer, then, i put back the headset in etui (goes automatically off). Then i turn the BL off. Sometimes i forget to close the media-player. With those steps, it drains power.
thank you to point this, i remark that something is missed in my steps in main-thread
