Hello Sailors,

after having two issues with the harbour owncloud which needed more power and drain all my battery and the finger-print service which run in vegetable-mode.
Trying to restart both services and unable to do it with the few utilities and apps of the sfos. Used the cli command to kill or restart or constraint to restart the device is not a really smart way.

I want to make my request to the jolla dev-team and the community to please implement a small system to manage all the sfos services.
Having the possibility to stop or restart some interfaces or service per gui would be really nice.
Things like Fingerprint interface, Owncloud/nextcloud connector, imap, async, sound server, nfc...

Maybe visible if the develop mode is activated, same as the terminal-app.

Have a nice time all, cheers

ShellEx from OpenRepos can help launch shell commands from the GUI.

This should work perfectly for you for the user services (everything like systemctl --user restart sailfish-eas.service)

For the Root services, ShellEx suggests configuring Sudo. My own favorite method is ssh with authorized keys.and forced-commands.

Ideally, Jolla should add a fee more buttons to their "Sailfish Utilities" from the Store.

The braindead way I do it: start the terminal, use the "up" if the command I need was run recently (e.g.: my backup script) other wise use the bash history search function with "ctrl" + "r" then type a search string (e.g.: "eas)

Didn't know of forced commands in authorized_keys. I thought I know ssh pretty well.

"Ideally, Jolla should add a fee more buttons to their "Sailfish Utilities" from the Store." correct.
And a little bit service observation for having an idea of their state, if vegetative, overloaded, not responsive
