Android application support suddenly stopped working totally and there is no chance to turn it on again. Both start and stop buttons are grayed out

What should I do?

Device: Sony Xperia XA2(Dual sim)

Rokua 3.3.0.16

Duplicate of issue 225703 but could not find out how to reopen the issue, and Rokua += 2 patchlevels.

Shortened the heading by removing meaningless parts away.

Uninstall Android App Support (open Jolla Store, pull down My Apps, look for Android App Support).
Restart the phone, install Android App Support.
Does it work now?

Same issue on my Xperia X. Android support was eventually OK after having uninstalled/reinstalled Aliendalvik three times.

Do you have Aliendalvik Control installed?

In case you have, please update it to latest available version.

Also you can read release notes before update can break anything: https://together.jolla.com/question/222221/release-notes-330-rokua/

Update: After working without any problems the Phone (Sony Xperia XA 2plus) stopped the Android support after restarting the phone. I deinstalled the android support, I reinstalled the support und added the new Alien Dalvik Control. Alien Dalvik was installed (according to the final message) but it wasn´t. There was no chance to get the support started again. So I had to reset the whole phone and to install everything new. Now it works again without any problems. I can´t say what happend, but there was no chance to get it fixed.

But overall the new version means a quantum jump. The phone works faster, the android support is better and the battery works much longer. Great job!

Apps didn't started at all and i was like: "awww, nooo." and thought: okay, lets go find another workaround. Read: "update aliendalvik control". no way, thats way too easy for a sailfish workaround i thought.

uups. it actually worked.

Thanks a lot Mate

Hi jovirkku,

I have the same issue. The Android-Application Support doesn´t work any more. I have uninstalled the support, restarted the phone und reinstalled it via Jolla Store. No chance. It doesn´t work. My phone is a Sony Xperia XA2 Plus (Dual sim) with Rokua 3.3.0.16. So at the moment the phone is useless. Is there chance to get a workaround or do you need further information?

Thanks and regards Andreas

I had to reset sailfish... My time, which no one return me back. Any jolla employer, are you reading this? Now I'm upgraded to rokua, but as I read, Rokua is not good version at all. Many bugs and problems. In android apps you are not able to attach images from phone. Why? Try to resolve these problems (android support, attach of files), Jolla. During the time, I have feeling, you're getting wrong way.
