My crappy N900 with less then 1 GHz single Core CPU and 256 MB RAM was able to run 32 Apps simultanously and now you want to tell me that this dualcore power phone can't open more then 9 apps? Sorry but I don't get that.

Please fix this and give the users the ability to do what they want to do. The best way to fix this is to remove the open apps limit completely. Just add new pages for 9 additional apps as long as the user is opening more of them or find another way to display them but do it.

@rdmo, did you really have to fix a typo in the topic and thus bump this ancient and today completely obsolete question up?

I see I'm distracting you from more important things, and for this I apologise. But does it actually matter? No. Let it go.

Micromanaging your supposed herds of humourless cats is you misdirecting your energy.

I didn't design this system that doesn't discern that tiny changes are caretaking and should be ignored. All it'd take is a bump-categorisation by size difference testing on submission, which can be baked in on most versioning systems. I'm interested in better products, services and conversation, not flame-baiting. Cheers.

By the way, scrollable task list with more than 9 Apps will come with SailfishOS 2.0.

Scroll to "Laid back app covers on Home"

You can have more apps running, the homescreen is just showing the last 9 which you have been using.

So if I open 12 apps. The last 9 I opened will be shown on the homescreen and if I want to close the 10th app which is running all the time I have to clos eone of the 9 before it? That doesn't sound like a smart way of handling open applications.

Please do it just like on the N900 or N9.

@XenGi Would you like to accept this answer so you can also close it? The issue of selectively closing some app(s) among the 10th up to the 12th, for example, is totally different than "how many apps in parallel".

I can't close it my own. I haven't enough reputation.

@XenGi you close the 9+n app by opening the task-manager by a long-tap, there you may scroll all running covers but only have the option to close them, there is yet to come more functionality!
