After updating and encrypting my XA2 single sim [3.3.0.16] Fruux is not syncing my Calendar anymore. I Backed up my Data to SD Card and restored it after encrypting. The Backup was kinda broken, as i had to relog int all my Accounts, and my Contacts are also not complete (parts of some contacts are missing, like some numbers of a single contact...).

I logged in to my fruux Account and tried to sync my Calendar. Sailfish seems to create a Calendar every time it tries to sync, but the calendar itself is empty. I tried that as also with the Android Application mith the Android Fruux App and Business Calendar2. The available Calendars are shown right on both ways but no entrys synced.

there should only be the 6 different Calendars visible. Has anyone experienced the same Issue?

Is it an Issue caused by the Backup restore?

If Fruux account is using CalDAV, I'm afraid you're facing the same issue as in this thread: https://together.jolla.com/question/224936/33014-fastmail-calendars-synchronization-not-working/

I can package a RPM fixing this if you're eager to install RPM by hands.

Fix will only be present in release afetr 3.3.0...

if it could be possible to install it without deeper programming skills that would be great. or a step by step for dummies... ;-)

I also have a XA2 single sim [3.3.0.16] but I don't experience any problems with Fruux. But... I didn't encrypt my phone yet. (And I guess I won't for the near future...)

after little Research About Basic Linux terminal commands i finaly managed to install tha package. :-D

So here is what I did:

  1. Downloaded the file from Damiens Link.
  2. activated developer mode and set a Password.
  3. opened Terminal an then openend Downloads Folder with cd Downloads/
  4. Unzipped the downloaded file with gunzip 15890555801674762.gz
  5. went to the Downloads Folder through filebrowser selected the unzipped file and installed it with the pulley Menu. Install was successfull (Installations as described above with devel-su did not work (critical error… what ever)
  6. deleted my Fruux Account
  7. Set up my Fruux Account again and it worked!!!!

Now my Calendar is back Online! Thanks @DamienCaliste!

Nice to see it's working. I forgot the file browser solution for installation. Good one indeed. It can even unzip the .gz I think.

Hey @DamienCaliste I tried also to sync the same calendar on the Alien Dalvik layer. The android calendar app shows all available calendars right but there are no enties displayed. Is this still an issue in Alien Dalvik and will that be fixed also in the next update?

Sorry, the Buteo plugin is only used in the SailfishOS part. I don't know at all how this is supposed to work in Android.

@Raymaen, sorry for the delay, I've been visiting hospital for quite unpleasant reasons in the meantime...

You may try this package to hopefully solve your sync issues.

@RobDie12194 and @Raymaen, don't hesitate to report if it's solving your problem, or if it is creating some new.

  • Before installing, you need to unzip the downloaded file with gunzip buteo-sync-plugin-caldav-0.1.65-1.armv7hl.rpm.gz.
  • To install it, type devel-su pkcon install-local buteo-sync-plugin-caldav-0.1.65-1.armv7hl.rpm.
  • To come back to the official Jolla package, simply devel-su pkcon install buteo-sync-plugin-caldav

Hey @Damien Caliste , could you please add a more detailed description how to install? after download via Jolla Browser the Package has a different Name as described above. do i have to move the file from the download Folder to an other? I do not have any programming skills, so i dont know how to get to the first step in the first place. :-) Terminal is active, as I activated developer mode. and typed in what you wrote: No such file or directory….

the File that is in the packagelink is called 15890555801674762.gz

same problem here with Google Calendars but true - this can't be fixed with buteo-sync-plugin.

danfin ( 2020-05-26 08:28:00 +0300 )edit

I realized my calDAV and cardDAV syncing had stopped yesterday. Deleted the accounts. Downloaded and installed buteo-sync-plugin from May9. Restarted. Calendar syncs fine now, again, but Adresses do not. Now what could I do about that? XA2, 3.3.0.16 (As I am not sure about how to, I created tow 'calDAV and cardDAV' accounts, one for Caldav, one for Carddav, just to make sure each has the proper server address.)
