Miracast is a WiFi certified feature for casting HD video image via WLAN network to Miracast(tm) certified HD displays. According to Qualcomm, Jolla's chip (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) supports it, so are you enabling this feature?

Enabling this feature might make the missing HDMI port redundant in time, as more and more displays are supporting Miracast receiving. More about the feature at http://qca.qualcomm.com/screen-sharing-with-miracast/

For all the different solutions, and even more, there's already this poll going on. This questions is just for this one feature.

I think the problem here is that the Jolla needs to be certified for Miracast and then also need support for the 5GHz band. For now we can only use the 2,4GHz band. Or am I wrong?

I would love the ability to use Miracast though! :)

You decided to close similar topic set by me (https://together.jolla.com/question/2374/miracast-peer-to-peer-wireless-screencasting-support-like-apple-airplay/). Both topics were set on same day and other one has more votes and lenghtier discussions. It does not make sense to close question which has more votes and discussions. So, I decided to reopen it. If it were possible I would like to merge these two topics.

Multiple similar ideas/questions are huge issue in this askbot -software and I have raised question in order to ask how to fix it: https://together.jolla.com/question/5720/how-to-merge-topics-in-togetherjollacom-community/

@LaruX The closing of your question was done, as your question was introduced 6h 40min later than this - but considering that there are more votes and an active conversation going on in your question, I agree with merging this one to your question. I'll close this, adding an answer here linking to your question and note all the writers about the merging. Thanks, it's always great to get similar questions merged - no matter which way :)

Cleaning up - this question is closed, due to a more popular latter question under the same topic: https://together.jolla.com/question/2374/miracast-peer-to-peer-wireless-screencasting-support-like-apple-airplay/
