Hi everyone

my standard OSM scout server and pure maps installation works like a dream with one thing missing: the application complains that there is no TTS (text to speech) component to provide the announcements.

Any idea how to fix this?

Best wishes from UK lockdown

Alex (SF 3.3.0.16)

This is more a question for the TMO thread, isnt it?
IIRC pure-maps does not install a TTS. So you need to install it manually, either mimic or picotts or.
Pure-maps chooses one of installed and mine uses mimic, so

devel-su pkcon install mimic

Before you should go to settings and look under sub 'Testing'. There the chosen TTS is shown and you can test output.

There's plenty of information under Requirements regarding text to speech: https://openrepos.net/content/rinigus/pure-maps

This is as good a place as anywhere to ask this question though :) Hopefully the aforementioned applications can be in Harbour one day!

Does anyone know if there is a library of voices for Mimic anywhere?

Hi everyone who popped up to field this question, many thanks to you all!

I tend to avoid the command line and instead found both mimic and picotts in storeman. Mimic failed to install but picotts installed first time and works fine!

Many thanks :-)
