Xperia 10 Plus - Not connecting to network and / or intermittent connection

Xperia 10 Plus. Software Version 3.3.0.16

Phone tested under stock Android. All functions normal. Good WiFi and mobile connections. Fresh install of SFOS and updated to 3.3.0.16. Under SFOS WiFi is working as per Android. No issues with general use of SFOS.

ISSUE Anything resulting in disconnection of the connection to the mobile network (reboot, airplane mode, loss and regain of reception) results in difficulties regaining connection.

Since re-flashing SFOS yesterday the connection has worked. This morning I turned the phone off then on. The screen showed a square hashed box. WiFi connected, but no connection to mobile.

I tired all the usual steps; airplane mode off/on, restart ofono, sim card in and out, reboot, .... Nothing worked. I left the phone whilst attending to another matter. After 20-30 minutes the phone connected to the mobile network.

Is this a normal level of performance for SFOS? This isn't causing me much hassle at the moment due to being in covid-19 lockdown, but I certainly can't use this phone for work (away from the back up of wifi) if; a) I can never connect, or, b) it's a 30 min wait to potentially connect. I work as a doctor so require a minimum level of connection at all times. I also rely on my mobile contract for data tethering.

I appreciate any help and advice. I really like SFOS and really don't want to go back to Android or iOS.

Thanks, Richard

@rkm I guess this is about the issue you posted here before. With your extended description now I think it is indeed the same issue @makarch and I are also facing. Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, it could be the same. It is hard to tell as the problem arises sporadically.

I've sold the phone now. I just can not rely on it. Maybe I'll pick up another phone to test out in the future, or use a WiFi only Gemini PDA.

If it helps... I too have problems with connection to mobile network on Xperia 10 plus, particularly after rebooting or powering-on the phone. I discovered that on my model (dual sim) if I turn on SIM2 (from phone settings), wait for 30 secs, and while SIM2 is turned on, I turn off SIM1 and wait for 30 sec (my actual sim card is in SIM1). Then, I turn on SIM1 and turn off SIM2. Mobile connection is back (3G or 4G, according to what I have chosen before).
