hello

I wanna purchase the OS soon, cause I am using the trial. I just figure out that I cant choose any kind of search engine that I want. I normally use swisscows for that purpose. An I was so sad to see that I could just choos with 4 different big companies that are tracking us so much and are not so privacy supporters. is this gonna be change in the OS , where we can choos ourselves the custon search engine that we want??

Well, the native Sailfish browser is unbearable to be honest so at least for me the search engine case wouldn't be the first thing to pop up in my mind. Maybe you could try to use other Android browsers like Firefox for instance to use your custom search engine. There aren't that many native Sailfish browsers either and most of them are just basically Qt WebEngine based applications, at least what I've experienced.

There is another nice package fromncoderus named
Serch engines for Sailfish Browser
This package preconfivures a few serchbengines which can be confgured from settings - apps - browser
