Hi, Im new to Sailfish, since I installed it on my Xperia XA2 - Im experiencing several issues but the most bothering is very slow web browser - it freezes when loading page, i have to tap link 20 times to go.... it freezes also during scrolling the page down etc. Is that "normal" situation or something went wrong with my installation? If it is usual, is there any alterntive browser? I could not find any...... thanks for any help how to solve it.

Did you search the forum before posting?, please always use search so we can try to avoid duplicate questions.

The browser is crap and is a work in progress. There are native alternatives (not many), go and search on https://openrepos.net

Here's a link to WebPirate web browser; https://openrepos.net/content/bobsikus/webpirate-fork

I'm an ancient Sailfish user, and the browser has always been slow. The regular freezes (on several pages) are occurring to me since the latest update (Rokua 3.3), and are extremely annoying. Optimisticly the freezes are the result of the ongoing effort to modernize the browser (toolchain update in 3.3). Your best alternative for now is an Android browser (e.g. Firefox).

@Edz I did search but surprisingly did not find good answer ...thank you for your tip.

update: I tried web pirate from jolla store and it is even worse than the default browser...page layout is completely broken, links does not work....I hope there is "normal" browser - dont want to believe that SFOS users dont browse web on phone.

@William eh that is sad if something so ....basic as browser has been always bad :(. I was looking fwd to start using sailfish ...but It can not handle most common calendars (eg. google), does not see many of wifi networks, has bad web browser..... :(

Install my Webcat Browser and a new Webkit Engine from openrepos. That should get you going at least a little bit less painfully. As for calendars. I am using Nextcloud. Works like it should.

@GolemX I have never had problems with wifi. the XA2 has a new firmware which is buggy for 5 GHz wifi, but there are warnings about it and the older version works perfectly. Calendars have come a long way, for me they are perfectly usable. I use caldav & nextcloud calendars.
