It should be possible to install Android apps to the SD card

I tried to just cut the entire android storage folder to the SD card but failed. I just wonder if it's possible to put all the Android apps in SD card and still be able to run it, since I would love to free up some more space for local storage? Some Android apps take up A LOT of space and it would really help save space on the device.
