I can't insert photos in Android apps.

I just switched from a Jolla Phone to an Xperia XA2. I have two strange behaviors here when I want to insert photos or files from inside an app.

1. I am in an app, for example PixArt Messanger and want to send a photo. When I select Insert Image the file manager is displayed I can select an image but it is not passed back to the messenger. Something similar happens when I want to insert a photo. When I select it, the camera opens and I can take a picture. But it doesn't go back to the Messanger app to insert the photo. On my Jolla Phone with Android 4.2. it always went well.

2. If I press the back button from the file manager or the camera to get back to the messager, the camera or the file manager is closed and the card view is displayed. The Messanger app gets no focus. When I select it, it becomes large and immediately starts the camera app or the file manager again, depending on what I selected previously. I can go on like this forever. Close camera, select Messager again -> it opens the camera again -> and so on.

Does anyone have any idea if I can do anything with the Android settings?
