Alien Dalvik dynamic screen resolution

I see that the screen resolution of the VM seems to be Jolla native minus the toolbar/buttons. This can be seen in games where instead of hiding the VM buttons, they are 'hidden' black with dots but the resolution broadcasted to the game is not changed that means that on-screen UI elements are misaligned and we cannot enjoy any Android app in full screen.

Please change the resolution of the VM to Jolla native fullscreen instead. I know this might be a big change underneath but a necessary one.

The dots are standard to Android 4.x. They also appear e.g. on my Nexus 7 when in "full screen" mode of some games.

It's great if the game would use fullscreen. Here the dots appear instead of the actual symbols but the toolbar stays instead of having the tods as fullscreen overlays. That's why the game UI elements are distorted.

There's clearly something broken here. I see the same behaviour on Galaxy on Fire 2 HD and Dungeon Hunter 4

So the problem seems to be in the application itself. There are a lot of Android phones with very different resolutions and screen ratios. I agree it would be nice to complete hide the buttons and bring them back somehow, but this is not how it works on Android devices.

Today I was lucky to stumble upon this tweet:

@fravaccaro @JamesNoori set ro.alien.start-systemui=true to false from /opt/alien/system/build.prop as root as I tweeted already.

<script async="" charset="utf-8" src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js"></script>

which hides the toolbar buttons from the Android Alien Dalvik environment. Of course this leaves us without any means to navigate through android apps without further tweaks but it does help to get the crashing game Galaxy on Fire 2 HD running properly, because it doesn't resize any of its UI elements anymore.

Now I really hope it's possible to take over swipe gestures from SailfishOS while in Android apps.

My suggestion would be swipe from left as the 'back' option, swipe from right as the 'taskswitcher/manager' option keep swipe from bottom as native SailfishOS notification option and swipe from top to hide or close the app to the multitasking view. This way we could have all Android apps in fullscreen and get rid of the overlay that is causing problems.

Now as of Software version 1.0.7.16, (Saapunki) I've seen the toolbar buttons dynamically disabled for the time an app is put to background in a card on the multitasking screen.

I would really like Jolla to give us the option to give apps a startup flag to have the toolbar disabled ONLY on those apps.
