Together portal feature, extended tag panel, is a nice way to build your views and filter the amount of questions by your own interest.

  • Featured tags: Click a tag to see question under it. Featured tags are selected by moderators
  • Tag search: Filter questions by the tags they have. Adding several tags to the search box works as an "AND" operator
  • Interesting tags: Your personal list of tags. Doesn't affect filtering unless you select "only interesting tags" from below
  • Ignored tags: Your personal list of tags. Doesn't affect filtering unless you select "exclude ignored tags" from below
  • Subscribed tags: Your second "list of interest". Doesn't affect filtering unless you select "only subscribed tags" from below

Additionally you can filter your email alerts with one of your personal list. Below the selection there's a quick link to your email subscription settings.

Tags listed at the bottom of the panel are just all tags visible in your current search result page. Clicking one of those adds that tag as a filter to your current search. All the tag filters currently in use are listed below the number of the questions. You can remove these filters one by one from there, or add a new one from your right panel.

ps. no need to vote for quidelines, but feel free to edit them. You can find all the guidelines in the front page: Featured Tags -> guidelines

The Guideline project:

Checking the content here to be divided into 5 topics on the new guide

  • "general"
    • Just a short introduction to the panel and links to the other subtopics
  • "Featured tags"
    • Offering quick front page access to the most important questions
    • Handled by moderators / admins
    • Are they all supposed to be reserved (for tagging official posts only)?
  • "Tracked questions"
    • Offering quick front page access to the bug reports and feature requests tracked by Jolla
    • Introduction the the 4 types of them
    • Some info on how questions can achieve a "Tracked" flag
  • "Using tag search"
    • Introducing tags as filters
    • Advice on how to add and remove these filters
    • Explaining AND when using several tags as filters
    • Telling the importance of using tags in all questions
  • "Filtering tags"
    • Introducing Interesting / Ignored / Subscribed lists
    • Explaining view filtering options and email options
    • Telling how useful this might be with some example links

Does the above sound cool, regarding just the content, or am I missing something? Layout later

The guideline project discusses on these old guideline posts until September 20th, updating and gathering information from here to a new post The Guideline. You're welcome to join the project, for example by editing and commenting this answer.
