When using non-mobile pages with text box inputs, one often has to zoom in to be able to tap on a text box. Having done this, the browser zooms out and shows the keyboard. Problem is, the text box you just located and had on view all nice and big is now so small you can't really see what you're typing in it.

Small annoyance I know but irks me beyond belief sometimes. I don't understand the purpose of the zoom-out. Why can't it just remain where I wanted?

Case in point: http://reittiopas.tampere.fi/en/ - zoom in the Place of departure box, tap and squint at the input box.

This is a big annoyance to me. Many text fields are so big that I cannot see what I am typing, let alone position the cursor at a specific point.

This is probably unintended side effect for doing zoom-in to text field. The idea is that text field should be big enough for user to see it and still fit the width of screen. I agree that this needs to improve. reittiopas is a good example where user's zoom level should be respected.
