Randomly People application stops responding. A blank page is displayed. The phone suggests to wait or to close the application. The only to restore a normal behavior is to restart the phone. I'm running version 1.0.3.8

The issue seems to be closed with update 4. I'm closing the question.

Instead reboot you can try :
killall jolla-contacts
or
killall msyncd
or full refresh of homescreen:
systemctl --user restart lipstick.service

To be more accurate, the app opens normally but sometimes it takes a few seconds to populate the screen with contacts.
