I would love a other way of interacting with my calendar. Having a timeline view like this, with integration of what ever accounts you like..

Scrollable with a red gouge marking were you are on your timeline and entries popping up or highlighted as the pas the gouge.. looking something like this:

Put the line on the bottom of the screen and add a line for the duration of the event. Zoom out to the view of a full year and then zoom stepwise to month, week, weekend, day, etc.

Nice. It would be really cool - and useful. A more basic thing that I really miss, is to be able to see upcoming events in the calendar. Why only show today's events?! Sure it would be nice to see it in the cover as some suggest, but really, in the calendar itself it seems as an obvious option!

Oneview Calendar

Playing around with my Sony Xperia X while waiting for the Sailfish OS port. Didn't like the calendar so I set out to find a replacement app. ...and found oneview calendar. The app is very close to what i have been looking for. It uses just one view that is zoomable.

Try it by going to http://app.oneviewcalendar.com with your phone or tablet. You don't have to install any app to test the calendar but the app is much faster and smoother - and uses your own data. Apparently it is based on HTML5. If you want a more sailfish-like experience then there's a dark theme available in the settings.

I would very much like to have a native calendar like this for my Sailfish OS devices.

Very cool idea. Indeed, it would be very nice to have such calendar for SFOS.

Just imagine having this type of view with photos. ...or for the call log.

But if you open the day view, the view is almost exactly that of the shown oneview calendar example, isn't it?

A standard calendar app has views in set steps from day through week and month to year. The oneview calendar doesn't have steps at all. There are some shortcuts, though. Pressing the week number zooms to display that week. Pressing the home icon (when you don't have the red line of "now" visible on the screen) zooms to show the current month. Pressing a day zooms to show the hours.

If you like to view any other period of time then just zoom and scroll until you are satisfied.
