Bug: Contacts link even when names only contain matching substring

I have two contacts Johanna Doe and Hanna Doe. Automatic linking links the contacts wrongly. They don't have anything other in common. The contacts come from google sync if that matters.

Right, we interpret these as being the same contact. You need to manually unlink them, as described here: https://together.jolla.com/question/26236/bug-unable-to-add-contact-with-name-similar-to-existing-one/

It's the same the question MattVogt linked to. Should be closed as duplicate. ... although this here comes short and clear to the root of the problem.

For people having the same problem I suspect they will search together for linking or merging bugs. And they will not find that linked one easily as it describes an adding contacts bug.

But yeah one fix will do for these both, so basically they are one problem. Close one and fix tags and description on the other as you see fit.

@MattVogt, that's fine that you have to unlink them (or not really, actually), but you would have to know where it is linked at first place. There is no notification or something shown after some contacts imported that there were some links made (at least for what I know) and you have no idea at all that something was linked. you only search for contact that seems to not exist.

@Rusnak-COBRA: yes, it is a significant problem. Maybe this will help: https://together.jolla.com/question/27570/list-about-linked-contacts-in-people-settings/
