Factory Reset [duplicate]

After a problem with (a loss of almost all event notifications) I reset my Jolla. But then, to get back to I also had to first update to

Have I missed something? Are the updates not cumulative? If not, they should be since, on the planned monthly update schedule, resetting could become a rather tedious exercise in serially reapplying each update.

Or is it simply a problem with the store?

Whatever, could we please change things so that we only need to do a factory reset and then apply the latest update only (even better would be to be given a choice of which update we want to use)?

This is NOT the same question. The question asked there (or at last answered there) is whether it is necessary to revert all the way back to when doing a factory reset, to which the answer is 'yes'. My question is whether, as appears to be the case given my recent experience, having reverted to we HAVE to then install each update individually: => =>

as this will quickly get more than irritating as more and more updates are released. Reopening

@strongm: Yes, you have to go through these steps, no other choice for now.
Note that the update process might change in the future, allowing to avoid the intermediate steps...

Do you accept that, with an announced monthly update schedule, it will quickly become a nightmare applying a factory reset? And, given the beta nature of the OS, a reset often seems to be the advised answer for various issues that crop up. In June, for example, I'm not going to be happy applying 7 full system updates in turn because my phone has stopped talking to the Jolla Store (for example).

Sorry. I just find 'might' is a very weak word - it might rain tomorrow. Then again it might not.

And I'm very well aware of the feature. My issue is not that, and is reported in more depth in other threads. So I won't go into it again here
