It would be very nice to see native Kolab 3 integration in Jolla / Sailfish OS for Contacts, Calendar and File sync. Kolab (http://kolab.org/) is an open groupware which would fit very nice into the Jolla community. Kolab also provides CalDAV / CardDAV / WebDAV and ActiveSync access, but the native access through their IMAP format (see https://wiki.kolab.org/Kolab_3.0_Storage_Format) would be much more robust and integrated. It would not rely on third-party protocols and provide a great user experience.

I do not agree on using Kolab 3 format, at least not as a first solution. IMHO, this solution would be the "third-party" protocol. *DAV are independent standards, not third-party...

just want to link to a similar topic that i would like to be implemented same way as Kolab "one day": https://together.jolla.com/question/43740/feature-request-sugarcrm-suitecrm-integration/

I have often wondered how many people use Kolab. In general, I wonder which PIM storage / sync solutions are the most used and therefore would be good targets for spending development effort on supporting. As an aside to this, we are soon (tm) opensourcing a large amount of the sync code (as Buteo plugins) which includes a simple framework to allow adding support for more services rather simply/easily - so perhaps once that opensourcing is done, the community will be able to help out with Kolab/ownCloud/other integrations. Anyway, this will be a topic in an upcoming Community Meeting once we open that stuff up, so stay tuned.
