[BUG] gps enables mobile connection without permission

Running a GPS app (osmand through alien dalvik in my case, but i assume the problem is generic) enables mobile connection without asking the user. That should never ever happen. It should be impossible for any app to enable internet connection without user interaction.

That is a slightly different problem. That bug is about using mobile data even though another route (wifi) is available. My bug is about activating mobile data silently without asking or notifying the user.

Yes my mistake sorry. The one that is similar(ish) is a feature request that asks to choose what to activate and when. It's a known bug. They will fix it at some point.

My report was actually exactly about it activating the mobile connection without asking - do you mean silently in the background without even showing it to the user on the ui? I just tried oruxmaps (android) and it did ask for a connection and not do start it itself - also it seems to not activate the mobile connection at least not visible on the UI
