Yes, I got this twice today. The messaging app becomes completely unresponsive at the contact overview, where you can see the recent conversations with your contacts. There is a pulley menu light at the top, that should normally not be there, I think.

I have no Facebook account connected, just XMPP that I rarely use.

I've experienced something similar twice. Always after long periods without a restart of the phone. I wasn't able to send an SMS via the pulley menu and I couldn't change to a conversation for replying to a message. However, the message app was not frozen. I could open and close it as well as scrolling through the conversations. A restar of the phone has helped. By the way, I have no account connection and use only SMS in the message app.

I've just hit the same problem. Restarting the app wouldn't help, but power-cycling the phone did. The main screen was totally unresponsive, pulley didn't work (but the glow was there) and I couldn't select any conversation/message from the list. However, when a new message arrived, opening the app led me to the "response" screen. Leaving that screen for the main message index would freeze the app again.

My integrations are XMPP and gmail.

Perhaps there a fix on the way in the March update? :)

I'm having this same problem. But looks like that if you go to the Phone app and long press a contact, then select "send SMS", it is still possible to send messages that way.
