Hey,

I'd like to request Mirrorlink car device connectivity to a Sailfish OS. This would allow, for example, using SailfishOS UI on a car device touch screen.

EDIT 18.3.: Could @Jolla answer if they are thinking about this or not?

This question extends / fits Sailfish car mode UI or future Sailfish/Jolla IVI

Here's an example of how MirrorLink works on the Nokia N9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hgO_BcLZVA

I would reformulate the question to "What is the status of MirrorLink technology in Sailfishos?"

High Cost required ... need certification ... is crap ... a pity

Certification is not required, unless you want to use it while driving. Granted, using it while driving is a large part of the use case (e.g. navigation).

Well mirrorlink support in general is very weak. There are almost no phones or carkits out there that really support it. So big job for very little practical gain.
