It would be nice to have the option to turn on the phone when the alarm sets off, if it was off, naturally. Nokia used to have this feature on some devices.

I agree, This morning when I woke up I had the same idea!

This would be cool but it is possible that this is not solvable in software. Can someone from @Jolla comment?

AFAIK this is already possible...

@torcida. I don't think so. I think what dmelamet mean is that when the jolla is off and the alarm rings, some older nokia had the option "turn on the phone" after dismissing the alarm. Right now if you dismiss/snooze the alarm the phone stays off.

Ahh, yes - just like the N900 that asks you if you want to turn the unit on. But this is most likely a feature for the SoC firmwire, not the SailfishOS.

Internal ticket for implementing this feature has been created.

To support multiple alarms case, the power up part probably needs to be dealt separately. Possibly something similar to how things were in N900: After all alarms have been snoozed/dismissed, a "Do you want to power up?" prompt is show and automatic shutdown occurs if no reply from user is received withing N seconds (or more alarms get triggered and need to be shown instead).

Any progress with this? Or a workaround?

Not really. More critical things have kept and keep pushing this into the future.

I understand. I can use airplane mode for the time being to preserve battery, so this isn't that critical. Happy sailing!

Another two probably busy years when on. Is this still on the agenda? I would really love this feature.

In favour of your request which has my support, I want to suggest a horizontal swipe to dismiss and turn on phone so it is not mixed up with the existing menu item dismiss.

This way it could be more daze-proof.
