I would welcome the opportunity to copy contact phone to the clipboard. It will be usable for many actions ... for examle: - send contact details via SMS (Until MMS will be available) - add contact to the Viber (Viber does not see the local contact list) ...

The provided solution with going into Edit mode and copying the phone to the clipboard does not work in all the cases. I have synced my Jolla with my Google account and it has taken the phone numbers and contacts from there. So now if I try to edit such contact, the phone numbers (with Globe icon in front of them) are not editable. So you cannot copy the phone number in the clipboard.

Though the edit mode thing (mostly) works, I find it way too troublesome. With the contact info page open, copying a phone number requires four steps: Select "edit" from menu, tap on "phone", tap on the number, long press. As a bonus, possible accidental editing. You shouldn't need to go to edit mode when all you want to do is copy.

I think copy should be possible from a contextual menu straight from the contact info – one step instead of four.

@cocovina, may I suggest you reopen and edit the question to make it a request for an easier way? I was going to post a new request, but found this and thought maybe I'll ask you first :)

@ssahla, of course. I reopened it. I agree with you. (one step to copy)

You can copy contact phone to clipboard. Here are the steps:

  • Edit contact details (Pulley menu -> Edit)
  • Tap on "Phone" (from the list on right side of the screen)
  • Tap on the phone number to edit (at this step if you do a long press instead of tapping on the phone number a dropdown menu will appear with the options "Change type" and "Delete").
  • Long press on the phone number you want to copy
  • Press the clipboard icon.

Of course, I tried this before posting my req. But I can see "Change type" and "Delete" options only. :(

Edited the answer, please see the added "double tap".

@cocovina Have you tried it?

Neo ( 2014-02-20 00:33:00 +0300 )edit

Yes I have. Tap or doubletap just opens the number for editing. No way to select the text (number). :( Maybe I am lamer. If you can, please let me know step by step practice?

Afte you tap the number and open it for editing, the last step is to long press that number and it will be selected for copy to clipboard.
