I did a reboot of jolla, and when I booted back all of my pre-installed ambiences (ropes, train...) were gone except the white one. Now I can't find them anywhere.

Did you uninstall the Tutorial application?

I had the same problem and have

  • stopped the TOH daemon,
  • upgraded the OS and then
  • rebooted the device.
  • Also uninstalled the tutorial application but I think the ambience was gone before.

There's a known bug by which if you uninstall Tutorial, Tracker goes away too and hence you "lose" your ambiences. Easy way to recover them is by resetting to factory setting. Hard way is by reinstalling tracker and reconfiguring, but don't ask me how.

Since there is some ambience that comes with the other half, maybe stopping the daemon cuts of the ambience?

Perfect solution. No reset necessary and ambiences/tracker are back.

If you uninstalled the Tutorial, it is known that Tracker (SailfishOS's kind of indexer) stops working/gets uninstalled. Sadly, the easiest way to resolve this is restoring factory settings.

What's the uneasy way? ;-)

Yes I uninstalled the tutorial. I guess that was the problem. Thank you for your help.

The uneasy way: install Tracker and configure it, but I'm out of my depth here. I just avoided uninstalling the Tutorial application. Also: this is a bug and it will get fixed, so it won't be a problem soon-ish, not sure it makes sense to make a wiki about it.

After the last update to 1.0.2.5 the menu entry for Ambience came back in the gallery. So the tracker came back, too - I guess.

Change device language to some other and after that change back to original language. This recovered my lost ambiences.
