There's a UX bug where you can launch, or have it running, the application you just choose to delete. You're able to launch it during the remorse timer it launches, but does not have full functionality since required files are removed. Even after the remorse timer reached zero and has disappeared you can launch the application, but it might not be able to start since it cannot load all files.

Also, after the remorse timer has reached zero and disappeared, the first thing to be deleted should be the application icon, so that the application is not visible. Or just hide it from the launcher while the files are removed from the system. Now the icon is visible until the desktop files is deleted, which can be quite a bit into the delete process, and that is confusing.

The question is whether all files are removed if the application is running.

I've collected the issues with deleting an application here, so some suggestions below are non-exclusive, i.e. what to do when launching and what to do if the application is running.

Suggestion on launching the application. While the remorse timer is visible and counts down the icon should be disabled and the application should not be launchable.

Edit: by disabled I also meant that the icon should also be dimmed.

I vote for this and add that the icon should be dimmed during the remorse time to make it more clear that the app is about to be deleted and cannot be launched.

Yeah, no need to reshuffle the icons like this.

@ssahla: actually I pictured the icon dimmed. I added a more explicit description.

Suggestion while the application is running. If the application is running it should be killed and the application should be deleted as expected.

Either this or display an error message. The operating system (Linux) does allow one to delete a binary that's currently running, but it's less confusing for the end user this way; also, as previously stated, there are files to be loaded, so strange errors can pop up if a running program is deleted.

Suggestion on launching the application. While the remorse timer is visible and counts down, tapping the application should be the same as tapping the remorse timer and should launch the application.

Suggestion while the application is running. If the application is running deleting it should not be possible, and trying to delete it should render a message telling the user this.
