if jolla does implement some of the features people are asking for here such as https://together.jolla.com/question/29526/make-keyboard-easily-available-in-any-application/

it may be ideal to have customizable gestures. i know some of the examples above may not be so good. i think the first one is probably the best to describe customizable gestures feature because it is a feature that is globally available to the phone.

Another one: Exchange in home view swipe from top with swipe from side

-> 1st swipe: go from app to home -> 2nd swipe: lock device

  • Much more faster
  • no more closing an app accidentally

so i'm thinking under Settings->System, perhaps add an entry there called Gestures where you can configure the customizable gestures.

I like the idea on the KDE desktop environment: you can define global key shortcut to any application or even it's features. I would like to have similar approach on Jolla, too, but probably using gestures instead of key shortcuts.

By default, there would be only standard Jolla's gestures (as we have today). Users would be able to define custom gestures then. For instance,

a gesture to go directly to email, to browser, to system settings,

or even more: a gesture to open new tab in browser, open certain bookmark, open up messages with my mum, go into my company's INBOX folder, etc. etc.

I think this universal approach would be better than extending official Jolla's gestures. Keep it simple by default, but allow extending.
