No sms icon in notification page [duplicate]

Randomly, no icon appears in notification page when i receive a sms. Phone vibrates but that's all. I'm running version 1.0.3.8. Messages application is opened. I'm receiving sms from someone in my contacts.

Has the display recently blanked due to timeout? If so then it's not just SMS, but any application that produce notification events and has focus when that happens and the grace timer is active, see https://together.jolla.com/question/25298/application-open-during-grace-time-introduced-in-1038-is-regarded-as-active/
