In a newspaper article (German) about MWC, I stumpled across the image below.

Now I am curious: what is the smaller device on the left hand side? A Jolla 2 prototype? Or some kind of accessory? I couldn't find any information about it.

(Hm. Just a note: If you intended to close this question, I suggest doing so using the "close"-link underneath the question. This will also automatically add the "[closed]"-thingie to the end of the question header.
I can close it for you, if you prefer that.)

I didn't close it, but thanks for the hint... just wondered why there was no reason... I am not sure about when (and why) to close an answered question anyway.

@tokaru - As you probably saw, there are a number of reasons why a question may be closed. Some of them are

  • that the person asking the question got a satisfying answer (as in this case)

  • that the question has already been asked (and maybe already is gathering votes)

  • that the question is no longer valid, say, because an update has already fixed a previous problem

Anybody with at least 25 "karma" points may close their own question.
(See the "How does karma system work?" section over in the Jolla2gether FAQ, for a quick overview of the "karma" system.)

@phle Thanks - basically I know why questions are closed, I just was not sure when or why answered (i.e. accepted answer) questions should be closed, I did not see a reason why people should be stopped from adding additional answers, which might be more detailed, easier or better in another way. But it definitely makes sense for outdated questions, yes... duplicates are out of question, of course :)

@tokaru - Good point :-)
... but: it's also possible to "reopen" an already closed question - and that's possible not only for the person asking the question, but for anybody with over (I'm unsure of the exact amount - 75?) "karma" points. :-)

It's a custom-made The Other Half (TOH), shown at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014.

Thanks for the additional information :) I was hoping it to be a smaller 2nd generation device, though ;-)

Thanks for the link, the perspective mislead me to think it is a smaller device.

Jolla have said there will be a second device but not until 2015. It was also suggested that the second device would continue with the same OTH size and specifications. This would be great news for developers of other halves.

There are also a few pictures of the hardware keyboard other half, which was being proudly demonstrated by its creator.

With a bit of luck (and persuasion?), Jolla would present two phones in 2015. One with the current size (4.5") and one slightly smaller one (~3.8"). Both with OtherHalves.

@vattuvarg Nice :)

@tokaru - It isn't for me to decide, but i want it so badly.

Oh, I just skipped "would" and read it "will" instead... kind of Freudian I guess ;-)
