Simple drawing/sketching tool [app-request] [answered]

I'd love to see an application for primitive drawing and sketching using a touch pen. No need for complicated editing tools, maybe just a few brushes, brush thickness, customizable colors and an eraser tool.

Ideally with ability to convert to vectors, share or export as vector/bitmap image.

Of course you can't draw that much on a 4.5" display, but it is enough e.g. to scribble icon, logo ideas or other simple forms.

take a look here: https://together.jolla.com/question/26389/software-request-xournal/ This is quite a similar request although yours is phrased more generaly.

@blubdibub thanks for the link, it is definitely related... wouldn't shelf this as duplicate though. IMHO, "porting" an existing desktop application to a mobile device is likely never to be done ;-) I assume far better chances for a simple Sailfish implementation started from scratch.

@tokaru The link wasn't intended to mark your question as a duplicate. (Which it clearly isn't). Just a little addition... I also think that there wont be a "real" Sailfish port of xournal. But I think the main part of the linked together question and the link to TMO from the together answer is the request for an xournal compatible app. It would be quite useful to be able to edit files you created on a Jolla with a PC and vice versa.

@blubdibub defintely :) I'd also love to see SVG export, allowing editing with InkScape or similar vector graphics tools

I'd argue that this feature should be part of the Notes application, but either way would be fine.

Simplest possible paint app "Paint" now donwloadable from Jolla store.

  • Just draw with some different colors
  • Select pen width
  • Select background color
  • Save as PNG

Some updates (like eraser) will follow.
