Currently you can shutdown the phone by holding the power button down for several seconds, even while the phone is locked (even with security code). Because of this behaviour, the phone gets very easily shutdown while the phone is in the pocket.

I'd be happy to see this behaviour blocked in future updates.

I realise this question was asked first, but it covers the same ground as this question which has a lot more votes, so maybe this question should be closed as a duplicate?

I'll accept this offer.

Or just add a confirmation approval for the shut-down. For example a prompt if you hold the shut-down button a swipe left to accept or swipe right to cancel.

Well, this could be an issue if the device/UI stops responding for some reason - the confirm prompt would not be displayed and you would not be able to shutdown the device. Well, you can just pull the battery in such case but still.

Maybe some emergency shutdown combination ? Like power & volume up for 10 seconds ?
