An option in the native file browser i would like to see in the future is 'show hidden files' like most distributions have, even Windows OS has it. Then at least you can see all the maps and files that are on your phone because it's your phone and you paid 399€ for it.

You can browse hidden files with Cargo Dock's version 0.2.0 (not yet in the Store, but downloadable as rpm, see thread on TMO).
(As you seem to be asking for this feature to be included in Jolla's own file browser, this isn't a proper answer to that – but at least it's a workaround.)
In developer mode you can see the hidden files with ls -a or ls -all but for not linux users it's preferable to have it as an option (user friendly).I am also a newbie in Linux and to atract as much possible people the more user friendly the system is the better.
Hans ( 2014-03-09 00:12:54 +0300 )editTo me, more important than seeing hidden files would be to be able to copy files into "forbidden" directories, i.e. devel-su for Cargo Dock. This would eliminate the need for Terminal for a lot of HowTos,
(Of course, you would still have to enable such copy procedures by entering the devel-su password, at least once per session.)
jgr ( 2014-03-09 22:29:40 +0300 )edit@jgr, I agree with you. For this there is StartAsRoot for Cargo Dock (and for File Browser and Filetug) in Openrepos – but this again is a workaround, it would be better to have it in the app.
By the way, StartAsRoot doesn't ask the devel-su password. Still, when I start Cargo Dock with it, I can delete protected files and whatever without ever entering the password. How can it even do that?

Now, I can see that Show hidden files option is available under Setting in "File browser" app. Maybe feature was incorporated later after this question was posted.

Just as a note: There is no "native" file browser in the sense of Jolla supported one. In the Jolla Store, File Browser is not part of the apps listed in the Jolla category.
