A vibration alarm can be quite startling, especially when the phone is lying e.g. on a wooden table or (even more) on a wooden cabinet. Otherwise, the default alarm sound is very gentle to wake up with :)

I would like to see a setting to turn vibration off for the alarm clock only. Usually people don't have their phones in their pockets while asleep, so IMHO there is not much point in vibrating (for most of us) anyway.

I would prefer to switch vabration on/off in ambience settings. Thus, you can disable vibrations in your "night ambience" and the phone will also not vibrate when recieving a SMS during the night.

I agree about switching off vibration for the alarm, but without switching off the haptic feedback on the pulley menus for Snooze or Dismiss. (Some of us need the haptic feedback to use the pulley menus when waking up without glasses / contact lenses).

and i would prefer to separate both of them to have the possibility to check one of them or both.
Sometimes i need just sound (for gently waking)
sometimes just vibrations (for discreet waking, - depends on material in contact - )
sometimes both (for strong waking, we can add the display light blinking too)
