nfs caching

i'm using nfs, but the unreliable wifi connection does make it hard to do anything with it.
I stumbled upon FS-Cache and i wanted to try this, but the cachefiles kernel module wasn't there. is it possible for that kernel module to be built in mer-tools so i can try this out?
if this works ok, i could add the cachefilesd manager to mer-tools
