Where are the dictionaries of the VKB stored?

Currently, only few languages are supported. And unfortunately I am Dutch, which isn't supported. That isn't a big problem as I would use the phone in English anyway. But a Dutch prediction for the VKB would be very welcome. If I only knew where the dictionaries are stored, I could add it myself. Does anyone know: 1.- Which prediction software Jolla uses (I thought XT9 because of many references) 2.- Where the dictionaries are stored.

I was about to ask the same question, only at the last moment I found yours. I would suggest to change the titel of the question to something like: "Allow to add extra dictionary to virtual keyboard word prediction".

I'm also Dutch, use English for the user interface language. Also in the Netherlands we use mostly the US international keyboard layout, so no extra keyboard layout needed. However as mentioned in the OP it would be very welcome if we could add a Dutch dictionary for word prediction in one way or another.

I would very much like to add Slovenian as well. I tried to do it on the N9, but it kept forgetting the new words.

Is there anything preventing the Jolla community from developing such dictionaries in the open?

Also would like to know how to create custom dictionary. Even by editing xt9.dlm will be nice, but I don't know how to do this, how to edit this file...

It seems they are actually included inside /usr/lib/qt5/qml/com/jolla/xt9/libjollaxt9plugin.so

Unfortunately this means there's no way to add additional ones, unless Jolla makes it more modular.

I think switching maliit from XT9 to the Presage engine used in this demo might also be interesting and could allow for more customizations: http://www.tizenexperts.com/2012/04/maliit-keyboard-word-prediction-error-correction-video/

No. Those are just the layout files, not the actual prediction dictionaries.

The custom prediction entries are stored in a database file: /home/nemo/.local/share/xt9/xt9.dlm For the default entries, I'm not sure. (If you remove the xt9.dlm file, your predictive input entries get reset to the standard factory entries, so clearly the defaults must be stored somewhere else...)
