Jolla account creation failed. (time settings and sim card not helped) [answered]

Hi folks! I'm a totally new Jolla user, my phone just received yesterday. I had a problem with the beginning:

I crop my sim card by hand to micro sim half a year ago to able to put in my last phone to a Nokia Lumia 520. It's work in there, but wasn't perfect, so the Jolla phone at the first times unable to detect it. (I solved this issue with a paper slice, so now it's not a problem anymore.)

I wrote what I did:

  1. Turn on my phone without sim card, go through the welcome setup and on the end I can not create the Jolla account. (Oops, problem with account creation)
  2. As I read on forums I set the date forward with a min. Did not help.
  3. I fixed my sim card and do several factory reset. Did not help.
  4. Turn off the phone detach the accumulator for a night, today I put it back and turn on the phone. Unfortunately everything the same. It's just a new day. :)

So the current situation is the following:

  • Have a Jolla phone with a working sim card
  • Unable to create Jolla account (Oops, problem with account creation)
  • Can not turn on the developer mode (I think it's maybe because of the same reason)

My phone comes with Salifish 1.0.0.5, I registered an account on account.jolla.com but can not connect to it. I used English language everywhere in the phone, but set Hungary to timezone. ps.: I'm a Java programmer, and the Salifish SDK installed on my system, but I hope it isn't need to fix my problem.

Couple of things:

  • Check that your date is correct (also year!), some have had problems because it's 2013 and not 2014. (You probably have already, but I'll say this just in case...)

  • When trying to connect your Jolla account, did you use your username (kabala) or email address? In account.jolla.com you can use either, but I remember reading somewhere that there are problems if you use the email address when connecting with the phone, so try entering your username instead.

  • In Settings > Accounts, do you see a Jolla account? Try deleting it (tap and hold, then choose delete) and adding a new Jolla account from the pulley menu above.

It might be that you already have an account, did you "Create new Jolla account", or "Sign in with existing Jolla account"?

Try going to Settings->Accounts->Add Account->Jolla->"Sign in with existing Jolla account"

Use the same credentials you use to access together.jolla.com.

I try both options. The "Create new Jolla account" with a totally new username and email, the "Sign in with existing Jolla account" option with my registered one.

I tried your suggestion. ... Now I tried to create an account from the phone with a new mail address.... It is work.
